Horses of Smokin' Aces Trick Riding
Scar
Scar started his trick riding career at a young age performing his very first show at just 3 years old. Now at 6 he is Bradi’s main steed and has been the most amazing horse to work with. Scar is extremely talented as he plays dead, rears on command and can bow to thank a crowd. Bradi and Scar will continue to wow the crowds this season and many more to come.
Smoke
Smoke is 17 years old this summer and slowly entering into his performance retirement. Kirstie purchased smoke four years ago and the two have been an unstoppable duo ever since. Smoke has been on the rodeo and trick riding trail for most of his career. At a young age Smoke performed in numerous block buster films as his trick training has gone beyond just caring performers around the arena. Smoke came to Kirstie as a trained trick horse with the ability to play dead on cue. To add to his outstanding resume Kirstie furthered this training by teaching smoke the riding rear and to rear at liberty. Smoke has been the veteran of our team and as such helped our younger members grow. This summer Smoke will appear in some performances but will be passing the torch onto one of our newest members, Phantom. The trust and love Kirstie has for this horse is evident in their partnership in the arena.
Bomber
One of the newest additions to watch out for is Bomber, half-brother to Phantom. These two are going to make an amazing team that will wow rodeo crowds all over. Bradi is working hard to have Bomber debut with the Smokin' Aces during our 2013 season. Bomber has an intelligent mind and a fast paced personality that is sure to bring a crowd to their feet. As all horses have in our training program, Bomber is learning to be versatile as his bowing and liberty skills have progressed throughout the winter. We are eager to see whats in store for Bomber and his brother Phantom.
Phantom
Phantom is one of our newest members and a half brother to Bomber. We purchased the two of them in the fall of 2011 and they both have been in our training program ever since. Phantom will be five years old this summer and performed his first show at the age of three. Kirstie has worked hard with Phantom to have him ready to go for the 2013 season as Smoke is nearing his retirement. He performed with the Smokin' Aces at the end of their 2012 season to debut his career and never missed a beat. Phantom can be described as a little puppy dog as he loves to follow you around and always be involved. He is an intelligent horse and a quick learner, he truly has been a pleasure to work with. Phantom is working on perfecting his trick riding skills while also learning some valuable bowing and liberty skills. Kirstie and phantom's relationship is new but continues to grow every time they hit the arena, we are so excited to welcome him to the team and can't wait for the upcoming season to begin to see Phantom do what he loves; perform.
Tippy Silk Canoe - "Silk"
Silk will be 15 years old this summer. Silk was taught how to trick ride at the age of 12, by Kirstie's sister and her rightful owner Jessica. Her Calm disposition and intelligent mind makes her a valuable member of our team. As our back up horse silk gets exercised on a daily basis incase she is called up to step in and perform. She is also a lesson horse at the Rougeau Farm where she teaches children how to ride a couple nights a week. A true genuine heart this horse has as she is constantly trying to please you. We are so thankful to have a horse like Silk to step in when needed. Thank you Jessica for letting Silk be apart of the Smokin' Aces Trick Riding team.
